For Real This Time

Earlier I started talking a little bit about the things that I wanted to do now that I’ve finally graduated. That was basically a mini-look into what I want to do in the next year of my life.
Everyone has resolutions for the new year and taking a look at last year’s, I did like none of them. I think I failed miserably for a combination of two reasons: getting married and unrealistic goals. Getting married took up a big chunk of time. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t change a thing, but I’m simply recognizing the fact that I kind of got busy and other things had a larger priority. Setting goals is always important, but it’s even more important to remember to set goals that are actually attainable.
So baring any unforeseen, new marriages I’d like to set out a few, more realistic, goals that I’d like to achieve for 2010.
ACTION ITEMS
- Read through the New Testament
- Run a 10k road race in under 40 minutes
- Start my freelance development
- Finally pick a design and stick with it for my personal site
- Create the lunch site as a stand-alone application
- Develop the poker site
- Challenge the cooking site
- Finish the poems I started
- Visit another country
- Buy a car
- Put lots of pennies in the jar
GENERAL ITEMS
- Play more guitar
- Take more pictures
- PRAY MORE
- Save more money toward a house
Well, here’s to twenty ten being a great year. Cheers.
Those sound like great goals!!!
I’d like to hear more about the lunch site and the cooking site.
The lunch site is a database of lunches eaten each workday since 15 August 2005. It has 1000+ lunches logged, does data analysis, provides charts with Google Chart API, and a user-based login system to enter/update/delete/backup/etc the data. It started out as a joke for a friend, but I’ve just been working on it slowly over the years. I want to make it a stand-alone that people can pay to download or get it to the point where I’ll allow more users from teh rest of the Internet.
The cooking site is secret for now.
1. I can go ahead and reassure you that you won’t have to worry about a new marriage this year. You’re stuck with me, kiddo. “I’ll find you”
2. I’m a big fan of number 7. I definitely think I can help you with that one. ;-)
3. Where’s find a job on that list?
<sarcasm>
I’m not a big fan of this “working” thing. Might not be the best option for my personality. I’m playing it by ear.

Quite a honest opinion, if you need help in your ventures, I can assure you I offer exceptional services.
