Amanda and I went apartment hunting last Friday and Saturday OMG A LONG TIME AGO. I wanted to try and share some of the knowledge that we gained through the whole experience.

With only 11 days before the wedding, you’d think I’d be freaking out. For those of you who know me, being the center of attention is not something I usually seek out. In fact, a few weeks ago I was hyperventilating at the thought of the impending date.

However, for some reason I’m completely calm. It’s the strangest feeling. Part of it is the fact that the to do list is dwindling. I was really stressing about being able to get everything done in the few weeks left before the wedding. Luckily, I’ve had some awesome people step up and help me out, namely my parents and future mother-in-law.

But mostly it is the thought that occured to me after returning from my bachelorette weekend in Florida. In only a few days time, I’m going to be married and not to just anyone. I’m going to be married to my best friend.

All this time, I’d been planning a party. I was worried about getting everything just right and trying to do it with a tiny budget. I never stopped to think about the reason I was doing all this. I forgot about why I was willing to stand in front of over a hundred people and be the center of attention. It’s the guy standing at the end of the aisle.

Today, I asked Charlie to make me an online phonebook for all of my work numbers. Now that I’ve been at my company for almost two months, I have four whole contacts, which apparently is too many for me to keep track of.

Recently, Charlie made a phonebook for himself because he kept destroying his cell phones and losing his numbers. I thought this was super cool and had to have one of my own. Him being the funny guy he is, when I went to check out what he did, he had changed the header to say amanda[dot]com (instead of charlieholder[dot]com) and below it read the following:

Wives
There should be a limit to what getting half of my possessions applies to.

The big day is coming up. Not THE BIG DAY, but the regular big day. Not the HUGE BIG DAY, just the regular big day.

Hopefully Amanda will have something planned here pretty soon.

Maybe:

1. A pool party
2. A small gathering in the new apartment
3. A dinner at a restaurant
4. A surprise
